Nonprofits

More mission. Less admin overhead.

Your team didn't join a nonprofit to chase spreadsheets, rebuild donor reports, or copy grant data between five tools. We help mission-driven organizations put AI to work on the busywork, so the people stay focused on the people.

The Problem

Nonprofits run lean by design. The same program manager who runs your food distribution also updates the CRM, drafts the board report, and answers volunteer emails. Every hour spent on administration is an hour not spent on the mission, and unlike a business, you can't just hire your way out of it.

At the same time, AI feels risky. Funders ask hard questions about how you spend money. Communities ask hard questions about how you use technology. The tools on the market were built for sales teams, and most of the advice out there assumes budgets you don't have.

You don't need AI hype. You need someone who will tell you honestly what's worth doing, what isn't, and what it should cost.

How BrightApps Helps

Honest from the first call

We start with a free discovery call, and we're upfront about it: if AI isn't the right answer for your organization yet, we'll tell you. That honesty costs us some engagements. It also means the ones we take on actually work.

We map real workflows first

Grant reporting, donor communications, volunteer coordination, program tracking. We find where the hours actually go before recommending anything.

We work with what you own

Most nonprofits run on a patchwork of donated and discounted software. We connect what you own rather than selling you a new stack.

Built for your budget

Scoped engagements with clear deliverables, so you can defend the spend to your board and your funders.

Your people stay in the loop

AI drafts, flags, and summarizes. Your team decides. Nothing goes to a donor, a funder, or your community without a human saying so.

Orva in This Industry

When it's time to build, many of our nonprofit engagements run on Orva, our AI assistant that works inside Slack and connects the tools your team already uses. Instead of learning a new platform, your team just asks.

"Summarize this quarter's program outcomes from our tracking sheet. Format it for the impact section of the Henderson grant report."

"Pull this month's new donors from the CRM. Draft a personalized thank-you for each one for my review."

"List every volunteer shift still unfilled for Saturday's event. Draft a message to the volunteer channel asking for coverage."

Technology that matches the mission

We think AI for good has to be more than a tagline. Orva is built to run on smaller, more energy-efficient models wherever the task allows, and we contribute a portion of revenue to carbon removal through Stripe Climate. We'd rather show you the receipts than put a leaf on the logo.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is AI appropriate for a nonprofit?

It depends on the work, which is exactly what the discovery call is for. AI is a strong fit for repetitive administrative work like reporting, data entry, and drafting. It's a poor fit for the relational work at the heart of your mission, and we won't pretend otherwise.

We run on grants. Can we afford this?

Our engagements are scoped and fixed, so you know the full cost before you commit. Many funders now support capacity-building and technology spending. We're happy to help you frame the investment for a grant application or board conversation.

Will our donor data be safe?

Yes. Your data stays in your systems, and Orva connects to them with the same permissions your team already uses. We build on encrypted infrastructure and walk you through exactly what the AI can and cannot see.

Do we have to replace our current software?

No. We connect what you have. If something in your stack genuinely needs replacing, we'll say so, but starting over is almost never the recommendation.

Start with an honest conversation.

Tell us about your mission and where the hours go. We'll tell you what AI can realistically do about it, including if the answer is "not much yet."
